Combined, the 20 judges had more than 470 years of experience researching and covering successful companies in the U.S. and abroad and have written for more than 180 consumer, business, financial, trade and technology publications nationwide.

Late submission deadline in Best in Biz Awards 2011 passed on Sept 20, 2011. Late entries were accepted from Aug 20 through Sept 20, 2011 with the payment of $325 submission fee. Companies submitting 5 or more entries were eligible for a 10% discount on their submission fee total.

Entries in each category were judged by at least five independent media and industry analyst judges from Sept 21 until Nov 4, 2011. Scores were combined and averaged to determine gold, silver and bronze winners for each category. Winners were officially announced on Nov 9, 2011. Winner trophies will be shipped later that month.

3) A short biography and business background of the nominee.
